Booking Terms & Conditions

These terms and conditions explain who we are, how we contact you, how we provide our training services, what to do if you need to change a booking, and your obligations as a learner. 

These terms apply once a booking has been made by email or online. Once we accept your booking, an email confirmation will be sent. If you do not receive this email, it is your responsibility to inform us.


Definitions:

Training Service: The service provided to you, often referred to as the 'training course.'

Learner: The person booking or undertaking training services with TIQN Academy.

Trainer: The person delivering the training course, either an employee or subcontractor of TIQN Academy.

Booking: Requesting or paying for training services either online, or via email.

Organisational In-House: Training provided at a client’s venue.

Open Venue/ Course: Training provided at a TIQN Academy venue.

VLE/ Virtual Learning Environment: TIQNs online learning platform.

Pilot Course: A course that is run to help improve and modify an existing courses content.


Booking Categories:

- Organisation: You are booking on behalf of others or for more than one person.

- Individual: You are booking solely for yourself.


Suitability, Assessment, and Behaviour on Our Courses

Assessment Criteria: Learners must demonstrate competence in both theoretical and practical assessments. A basic command of English (Level 2) is required.

Physical Requirements: Incident management roles can be physically demanding. It is your responsibility to ensure you can meet these demands. We cannot issue refunds for learners who fail to meet these criteria and must refer them for further training at their expense.

Full Participation: To obtain certification, you must attend all course sessions and pass all assessments. Learners who fail to do so will not receive a certificate and must attend further training at their own expense.

Age Requirement: Learners must be 18 years or older.

Reasonable Adjustments & Special Considerations: Upon enrollment, Learners will be provided with the opportunity to declare their Reasonable Adjustments & Special Consideration requests upon accessing their Virtual Learning Environment area. This will be reviewed by a member of TIQN’s team as quickly as possible, in line with TIQN RASC Policy.

 Behaviour: 
We reserve the right to refuse entry or ask a learner to leave a course if:

They arrive late or are absent.

They behave inappropriately or refuse to participate.

They are under the influence of drugs or alcohol.


Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) Requirements

Mandatory Pre-Course Completion: You must complete all mandatory VLE elements before starting face-to-face sessions.

VLE Access: Login details will be sent after confirmation of your booking. It is your responsibility to contact us if you do not receive them.

Monitoring: TIQN Academy reserves the right to audit VLE activity to ensure the learner's identity and quality of training.


Amendments, Cancellations, and Refunds

Amendments:  If you require to amend a course date, or make another change to your course you must contact us as soon as possible, TIQN will make every effort to support any changes needed, however this may not always be possible. Amendments made with less than 7 days until the original course booking date will incur a £50 administration fee.

Cancellations:

 More than 4 weeks before the course: Full refund or free transfer to another date.

Between 4 weeks and 7 days before the course: 50% refund or a 10% transfer fee for a new course date.

 Less than 1 week before the course: No refunds; full payment is required for transfers or name changes.

Non-attendance: No refunds are provided for failure to attend due to missed communication about course details.

Changes by TIQN Academy: If we need to amend a course, we will inform you and offer a refund or transfer.


Payment Terms

In-House Courses (Where TIQN comes to the organisation):  Payment must be made in full at least 30 working days before the course date. Non-payment may result in course cancellation without notice.

Individual/ Open Courses:  Payment is required at time of booking.


Assessment and Appeals

No Guaranteed Pass:  Course fees do not guarantee a pass. Assessment is based on performance. 

Appeals:  You may appeal decisions in line with our Appeals Policy. If unsuccessful, re-assessment will incur a fee of £85 + VAT.


Accredititation:  TIQN is awaiting approval from Ofqual to become an Awarding Organisation to add all qualifications to the Regulated Qualifications Framework, at present TIQN will award all certificates as Certificates of Attendance in lieu of Ofqual approval, at the point of which this is achieved TIQN will aim to back date all certificates awarded to learners where all assessment criteria is achieved and the course has been delivered in line with TIQN policies and standards of quality, with a regulated certificate.

TIQN is an Approved CPD Provider with the CPD Group. Their courses are undergoing review for CPD Accreditation in-line with the courses specification. On approval, all courses and certificates associated with receiving Accreditation will be updated. Courses completed before this accreditation will not be updated.


Pilot Courses: From time to time, we may offer Pilot Courses as part of our course development and continuous improvement process. These courses are delivered at a significantly discounted rate in exchange for learner feedback.

By booking onto a Pilot Course, learners agree to complete a feedback form, which is essential to help us refine our content. This requirement will be clearly communicated via the course booking page, during pre-course communication, and as part of the intake session.

Learners must complete the feedback form to a high standard. Failure to submit the form, or submission of a form that does not meet the required standard, may result in the learner being invoiced for the full, non-discounted course fee.


Force Majeure

In the event of circumstances beyond our control (e.g. war, riots, epidemics), TIQN Academy reserves the right to cancel a course. In such cases, we will offer alternative training within 12 months. No refunds or transfer fees will apply.


Intellectual Property Rights

Course Materials: All intellectual property rights to course materials are owned by TIQN Academy. Participation does not grant rights to use or alter these materials.


Complaints

If a Client is unsatisfied with any of the training provided during the course programme, they should contact TIQN Academy as soon as possible to register their complaint. All complaints or enquiries of this nature are investigated, managed and resolved in line with TIQN’s Complaints & Appeals Policy.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.


By continuing to book onto a course with TIQN, you accept and agree to these terms and conditions in whole.
